SUMMARY:ONLINE EVENT: A Panel Discussion on Supporting Pets & People Through Loss
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE EVENT:\nSaying goodbye to a beloved animal is one of the most difficult parts of sharing our lives with them. Yet many pet guardians are unsure what to expect, what decisions they may face, or how to prepare emotionally and practically when that time comes.\nJoin Jody Crotty, Eleanor Soule, and Tracy Matteson for a compassionate 60-minute conversation in the Zoom Room exploring aging, end-of-life care, loss, and grief from both the animal and human perspective.\nTogether, our panelists bring experience in animal communication, companion animal end-of-life support, pet loss, aftercare, hospice nursing, and sacred death care. They will share different perspectives on how preparation, support, presence, and thoughtful choices can help families navigate this deeply emotional time.\nThis conversation is not only for those currently facing the loss of a pet. It is an opportunity for every guardian to better understand the end-of-life journey, learn about available resources and options, and begin thinking about how they want to support and advocate for their animal during the final chapter of their life together.\nWhat Participants Will Learn:\n\nHow to recognize and navigate anticipatory grief as a pet ages or experiences declining health\nWhy preparing for end-of-life decisions before a crisis occurs can be helpful for both pets and their people\nHow end-of-life doulas and other support professionals can assist families throughout the dying and grieving process\nHow pet loss can affect human emotional well-being before, during, and after a loss\nPractical considerations such as veterinary contacts, support systems, advance planning, and end-of-life wishes\nWhat families may want to consider when exploring aftercare and memorial options\nHow connection, presence, communication, and honoring the relationship with your animal can remain important throughout the end-of-life journey and beyond\n\nThere is no single right way to navigate the loss of a beloved animal. This panel is designed to help pet guardians better understand their options, ask meaningful questions, and feel more prepared to make compassionate decisions for both themselves and the animals they love.\nCOST: Please register for this online event below.\n\nN/C for members (Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART)\n$15/person for Non-Yet-Members\n\nThis event will take place in our Zoom Room. You will receive the Zoom Room link and additional details via email after registering as well as the day of the event. Can’t attend the live session?
