How We Started
Golden Dog Adventure Co., formerly the NH Dog Walking Club, began as a community outreach program of It Takes a Village Pet Care, a professional dog walking company located in Barrington, NH that closed in 2021. Traci Bisson, owner and founder, made the decision to close her pet care company so that she could focus her efforts on reaching and supporting dog guardians throughout NH.
The idea for a dog walking club originally started with an employee at her 30-day review who expressed interest in getting together with co-workers for walks with their own dogs. The idea developed from there and grew into the NH Dog Walking Club, which officially launched in December 2018. At its first test event, a few hardy dogs and their people, braved the elements to climb Blue Job in Strafford.
In 2022, the “dog walking club” evolved and was officially rebranded as the Golden Dog Adventure Co. From the beginning, the company has grown and pivoted to offer fun and unique experiences throughout most of New Hampshire, and parts of Maine and Massachusetts.
In 2024, we made the announcement that our membership was moving towards a force-free, relationship-based model to align with our evolved Vision and Core Beliefs & Values. We updated our Community Guidelines to reflect that aversive training tools would no longer be allowed at any events hosted by the company.
We are committed to meeting dog guardians where they are in their learning journey and helping to strengthen the relationship and bond with their canine companions.
We are dedicated to empowering our members with leading-edge research and connecting them with the top experts in the industry. The end result is a program focused on improving the mental and physical health and wellbeing of our community. Join us!
We are fortunate to have an expansive network of Corporate and Expert Partners who support our mission and vision. Together, we provide quality outreach education and learning-focused adventures to improve the health and wellbeing of dogs and their people.

Charitable Partner's Program
Annually, we support several local charities by helping to raise funds and create awareness of their causes.
Since our program was established in 2019, with the generous support of our members, partners, sponsors, and community, we have donated over $38K (not including goods/services) to local pet charities.
We invite NH-based pet nonprofits, who subscribe to our Core Beliefs and Values, to apply to our Charitable Partner’s Program.
This program is newly revised for 2023 in an effort to offer additional assistance to nonprofits to maximize their fundraising efforts. Charities that receive support in 2024, must wait 1 year before reapplying.
Fundraising Goal for 2024
Our goal for this year is to exceed $15,000 in donations to our Charitable Partner’s Program with the help of our Partners, Members, Community, and Sponsors.
