Jim Hill Riverwalk, Concord, NH

Jim Hill Riverwalk is a gem of a find. So peaceful and relaxing; a great place to hike and take your dog swimming.

A sign at the beginning of the trail on Runnells Road reads: “This beautiful trail is dedicated in recognition of Jim Hill‘s passion for preserving our natural environment and scenic wild places for the enjoyment of future generations. Jim’s commitment to this admirable purpose serves as a model for young people everywhere.”

As with all natural places you walk with your dog, please treat it with the utmost care and respect and hike safe. Be sure to also follow trail manners for you and your dog.

Parking for this trail is located at the end of Runnells Road which is a dead end street. There is a private residence that also shares this area. There are several places to park here and enter the trailhead which starts to the right of the parking lot and crosses the field.

The beginning of the trail makes its way through an open field. When you reach the woods, you can continue straight, cross the bridge, about 3/4 of a mile to the beach. Or you can turn right and head towards Lehtinen Park then back track to the beach to hike the entire 3.7 miles. Follow the Trail Map to guide you.

The beach is sandy and wide and may have a picnic table for use. This is a relaxing location to enjoy lunch with your dog.

Dogs will also enjoy swimming in this area. You may see an occasional kayaker in the warm months.

From the beach, it is another 3/4 of a mile back to the parking lot.
