Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We welcome dogs of ALL temperaments and make special accommodations to be sure that all pups and their people feel safe, welcome, and included at our events.

We encourage you to advocate for your dog as needed at the event and notify our team if there is anything additional we can do to assist you.

Our dog training partner, Helen St. Pierre of No Monkey Business Dog Training, will also be onsite to ensure everyone’s comfort.

We are committed to making this event a safe, welcoming, and inclusive experience for all dogs and their handlers.

  • Professional dog trainer, Helen St. Pierre of No Monkey Business Dog Training, will be on-site to monitor dog body language, ensure that all participants are spread out comfortably, and help manage any concerns.
  • Event tables and activities are spaced out to prevent crowding and allow guests to move through stations at their own pace.
  • If you or your dog need assistance, visit the Safety Station at the Check-in/Registration Table and ask for Traci.
  • We recognize that dogs have different comfort levels and temperaments. Our Social Ribbons System helps identify each dog’s personality and space needs, ensuring a positive experience for everyone. If needed, pick up one for your dog at check-in
  • Some activities may involve dogs being in closer contact or sharing sensory exploration spaces. If you are concerned about the canine respiratory illness, we recommend avoiding these activities or choosing not to attend.
  • Retractable leashes and aversive training tools are not allowed. This includes prong/pinch collars, choke collars, bark control devices, shock collars, and spray collars. All dogs must be on a 6-8 foot leash at all times.

Brightly colored plastic eggs are “hidden” throughout the field at Muddy Road Brewery for your dog to sniff out. Each contains a tasty treat and some may have a prize slip.

VID Experience ticket holders are the first to seek eggs. Additional guests are randomly divided into 3 groups – A, B & C. Each group has a different time slot. A member of our team will guide you and your dog to the appropriate area when it is time to start the egg hunt.

Each dog is able to find and retrieve 20 eggs (30 eggs for V.I.D. dogs).

The eggs are made of plastic. Please watch your dog carefully. When their nose touches an egg that is when you should pick up and put in your basket/bag to avoid breaking and ingesting parts of the egg.

This year’s egg treats have been generously donated by Stella & Chewy’s. The eggs will contain a combination of beef and chicken freeze-dried raw meal mixers that are grain and gluten free.

Please bring an Easter basket or reusable bag for collecting eggs. Please try to avoid bringing a plastic bag.

The eggs will be relatively easy to find by sight. The goal is to let your dog find them with their nose. Each egg has several holes in it to allow your dog a true sensory enrichment experience.

Eggs can be returned for recycling at the end of the event in the big blue buckets at check-in or you are welcome to keep.

After you find your 20 eggs (30 eggs for V.I.D. Experience ticket holders), please open to collect the dog treats and see if you find any prize slips.

Eggs can be returned for recycling at the end of the event in the big blue buckets at check-in

If you have a prize slip, please return to the check-in table to claim.

Yes, there are two bathrooms inside the dog-friendly Brewery for use during the event.

When you check-in, you will receive a V.I.D. lanyard, your wag bag, and an Easter basket with goodies for your dog.

You will be alerted to gather for your egg hunt just before 11:30am.

The V.I.D. raffle winner will be announced at 12:45pm. You must be present to win.

Monica Allaire-McMahon, KPA-CTP, owner of Barrington Barks and Behavior will be offering a sensory/relaxation experience for dogs and their people. This activity, held in 5-10 minute sessions, is appropriate for one dog at a time and includes a variety of textured surfaces, raised stations, and scents to explore.

Gathering and processing sensory information at the dog’s pace has been shown to promote calm and lower stress. Each and every dog can benefit from reducing stress and arousal.

Sandra from Sandra McCarthy Photography will be at the event taking pictures of dogs in their colorful bandannas found in your Wag Bag. This photo session is included in your ticket price.

Sandra will be set up in the barn and is available for photos throughout the event.

Participants will be contacted after the event with info on how to access their digital images.

The 4th Annual Doggy Easter Egg Hunt is a fundraiser for our Charitable Partner’s Program

Annually, we support local charities by helping to raise funds and create awareness of their causes. Since our program was established in 2019, with the assistance of our members, partners, and community, we have raised over $50K (not including donated goods/services) to support local pet charities.

This year, our event is supporting Mary’s Dogs, Old Dogs Go To Helen, NHSPCA, and Cornerstone VNA’s Pet Peace of Mind Program.

Golden Dog Adventure Co., established in 2018, brings dogs and their people together for exercise, education, and socialization in positive, welcoming, and fun environments.

To learn more, visit our About and Core Beliefs & Values pages.

If safe to do so, the event will still take place if it rains. If high winds or thunderstorms are predicted, the event will be rescheduled to Saturday, April 26th at the same time.

Since this is a fundraiser for our Charitable Partners, there is no refund available. Your ticket investment will be donated to the charities we are supporting during this event. Thank you for understanding!
