ABOUT THE EVENT:
Welcome to the “Intro to Trick” event at the Summer Doggy Olympics, where fun meets skill in an exciting display of canine cleverness! This event is designed for dogs and handlers to learn and showcase simple yet impressive tricks, emphasizing teamwork, concentration, and enjoyment. High value treats are recommended.

• Group Learning Environment: Dogs will participate in groups of five, fostering a supportive and social atmosphere. This setup allows participants to learn not only from their own experiences but also by observing their peers, which can be incredibly beneficial for both dogs and handlers.
• Variety of Tricks: The event will cover a range of tricks suitable for all skill levels. From classic tricks like ‘shake’ and ‘roll over’ to more unique actions like ‘spin’ or ‘bow,’ handlers can choose to focus on what interests them most or challenges their dog in new ways.
• Focus on Fun and Education: The primary goal of this event is to have fun while learning. It’s a great opportunity for dogs to engage their minds, enhance their ability to follow instructions, and improve their focus—all within an enjoyable and light-hearted setting.
• Interactive Sessions: Each group session is interactive, with hands-on guidance from an experienced trainer. Handlers will receive tips on how to effectively teach tricks using positive reinforcement and will have the chance to practice the tricks in real-time with their dogs.

Participating in the “Intro to Trick” event is an excellent way for handlers to strengthen their bond with their dogs and discover new ways to interact and communicate. It’s also a perfect platform for dogs to enjoy mental stimulation and learn skills that can boost their confidence and behavioral repertoire. Whether you’re looking to introduce your dog to the basics of trick training or aiming to add some new tricks to your routine, this event promises a fun and rewarding experience for all involved.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. For this competition, your dog will be participating with a small group (5) of canine athletes in a large open area. If decompression time is needed, there is a separate room you can escape to as well as an exit to behind the building and a grassy area.
