DOGGY SOCIAL: Scent & Seek at the Playground

ABOUT THE EVENT:
You and your dog are invited to join us for a fun and engaging, 1-hour Seek & Scent Adventure on leash, and 30-minute off-leash social at Golden Dog Playground! This event is designed to strengthen the bond between you and your furry friend while stimulating their natural scent-tracking abilities.

What to Bring:

• A partner (we can also assist if needed)
• A scented item (sock, shoe, t-shirt, towel, or anything with your smell)

Activities:

1. Scent Box Search – Upon arrival, you and your partner will hide your scented item in a box within the playground. Watch your dog as they search and find your item. Observe their excitement and reactions as they recognize your scent.
2. Woods Scent Hunt – Next, we will move to the wooded area where you will hide your scented item again. Can your dog track your scent through the woods and locate your item? This activity will test and enhance their natural tracking abilities.
3. Nosework with Treats – We will conclude with a nosework activity using high-value treats, where your dog will search for hidden treats, honing their scent detection skills in a fun and rewarding way. If your dog has food sensitivities, please bring treats for them.

Off-Leash Play:

The last 30 minutes of the event will be dedicated to off-leash playtime, allowing your dogs to socialize, explore, and enjoy some free time in a safe and positive environment. If your dog would be uncomfortable with this activity, you will have time to safely exit the Playground before this activity begins.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
This event may be good for your sensitive or reactive dog since the first 60 minutes of fun will be on leash. After, off-leash play will be encouraged. If the social would not be comfortable for your dog, you may safely exit the Playground before this activity begins. COST: Limited to 10 dogs

• Members – $25/dog (Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART.)

Please no children under the age of 13; must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian over the age of 21. Please email cancel@goldendognh.com if your plans have changed. Full refund issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after. 

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
This social will be held in Barrington, NH. Participants will receive all the details 24 hours prior to the event start time.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING AN EVENT:

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and registered participants will receive a email cancellation notice. It will also be announced in the Event section of the Facebook Community Group and on this Calendar page.
