GET FIT WITH FIDO: Test Group #2

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Golden Dog Adventure Co. is excited to introduce Get Fit with Fido, an innovative new way to move, train, and bond with your dog! These classes are part of a limited test series running throughout October and November at the Golden Dog Playground. Get Fit with Fido classes are designed as an easy entry point into fitness for both people and their dogs. Activities focus on gentle movement, balance, and teamwork, with an emphasis on fun rather than intensity. Most exercises are low impact, and modifications are always available to match your comfort level and ability.

This class is a great fit for anyone looking to begin a new routine, explore movement with their dog, or simply enjoy a light, active session together. Participants should be able to handle light stretching, walking, and basic bodyweight activities. If you have concerns about your ability to participate, please check with your doctor before attending.

Together with your canine companion, you’ll explore a variety of fun, movement-focused activities designed to improve health, build confidence, and strengthen the human–dog bond.

Equipment will include:

• Cavaletti bars
• Klimb platforms
• Cones
• Balance discs
• Confidence-building stations
• Natural obstacles
• Weights and more

Each 75-minute session includes:

• Warm-up (gentle stretches for humans and dogs)
• Cardio & resistance training (30-45 minutes of guided activities)
• Cool-down (relaxation and recovery)
• Feedback circle (share your experience and ideas to help shape the program)

What to Bring

• Chair
• Yoga-style mat
• Wrist/ankle weights (optional)
• Resistance bands (optional)
• Waist leash (recommended for best control and hands-free movement)
• Hip pack to carry water, treats, poop bags, phone, keys, etc. (optional)
• High value treats
• Water for you and your dog and a water bowl
• Comfortable clothes and sneakers (no open toed shoes)

Important Notes

• These sessions are designed for humans and their own dogs. You will both be learning new activities, so patience and practice are encouraged—just have fun with the process!
• All dogs must remain on leash during the class.
• Participants must allow photos and videos of the session to be taken and used for promotional purposes.
• Modifications can be made to any activity to fit your needs.

Health & Safety

• Each test group is limited to 6 participants.
• Participants should be able to handle light to moderate fitness activities.
• Please check with your doctor before joining if you have concerns about your health or ability to participate.
• You must sign a liability waiver before class begins.
• Participation is at your own risk. Golden Dog Adventure Co. is not responsible for any injuries that may occur due to inability to safely handle exercises or canine interactions.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2-3. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. Get Fit with Fido classes are held in the Golden Dog Playground, a safe and enclosed space with multiple activity stations. While the area will be closed to the public, dogs and their handlers will be working in closer proximity and engaging in stimulating exercises with new equipment, movement, and sounds. This environment may be exciting and occasionally overwhelming for some dogs. Your dog should be comfortable being around other leashed dogs, people, and the energy of group activity. If your dog would find this environment stressful or challenging, we recommend you attend without your dog to participate and learn the activities. • $25/canine and human team – Only 1 dog per guest please for maximum happiness.

• Please join the waitlist if the event fills up and we will notify you of cancellations.

The Golden Dog Playground is located in Barrington, NH. Additional details will be emailed to guests 24 hours prior.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering unsafe, the event will be cancelled/rescheduled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. If you are registered, you will also receive an announcement via email.
