Intro to Nordic Walking at NH Seacoast Greenway (Humans Only)
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Curious about Nordic Walking? Join us for the next introductory session of this new Golden Dog offering. This week, we will walk the NH Seacoast Greenway Trail in North Hampton, NH and stop for lunch after at The Airfield Cafe.
This small, guided test group will introduce the fundamentals of this low-impact, full-body activity using specialized poles to engage the upper body, improve posture, build strength and endurance, and support joint-friendly movement—while helping us shape how it evolves within our community.
This is a learning-focused group walk—not a formal class. We’ll move at a comfortable, instructional pace over approximately 2–3 miles, focusing on building confidence and understanding of the movement. Along the way, we’ll cover:
- Basic Nordic Walking technique and proper pole use
- Posture, coordination, and rhythm
- Pacing and real-world application on a flat, accessible trail
Guests must bring their own Nordic Walking poles. These are not standard trekking poles—they are specific to the activity and important for proper form and effectiveness. If you do not have the correct poles, you will not enjoy the full-body workout benefits of this activity.

To get the most out of our time together, please watch this short introduction video prior to attending.
Please note: this session is for humans only—no dogs for this initial test group. Introducing dogs to Nordic Walking requires a separate layer of training and will be offered in a future class. This is also a test group experience, so your feedback is encouraged as we refine and build out this offering. There is no cost for this initial session.
This experience is a great fit for those who are curious about Nordic Walking, looking for low-impact functional movement, and interested in improving strength, posture, and endurance in a supportive, community-based setting.
This is your opportunity to be part of something from the ground up and help shape what Nordic Walking becomes within Golden Dog.
