MEMBER ONLY: Clipper City Rail Trail Hike & Lunch

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This adventure is for Golden Dog Club members only. Not a member? Learn about membership and join for discounts and savings on adventures, education, products, and services.

Members, join us for our September outing as we hike 3-4 miles along the Clipper City Rail Trail to the Harborwalk and Newburyport’s beautiful waterfront. There is much to see and do on this walk, including:

• Learn about the history of trains in the area.
• Admire the unique sculptures that line the Rail Trail.
• Take a picture with your dog on a commemorative train.
• See the beautiful flowers and gardens that align the trail.
• See the historic waterfront, cute shops, and boats/yachts in the harbor.
• Let your dog take a dip in the cool waters.

After our walk, we will relax at the large outdoor area at RiverWalk Brewing Co. for local craft brews and great food (the nachos are soooo good!).

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2-3. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. The trail is wide with grassy areas on the side. This area attracts walkers and bicyclists as well as tourists along the waterfront.  Your dog should be comfortable with this level of activity as well as children who may be playing in the parks. If your dog would be uncomfortable in this environment, we recommend attending without your dog. TRAIL RATING:
The Rail Trail and Harborwalk are both rated as Level 1, Moderate. The trail is paved, mostly flat, and wide. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System.

COST: Please register for this event below. You may also register other family members when you sign up who will be arriving in the same car with you.

Members, if you register and cannot attend, please cancel within 48 hours to avoid a cancellation fee of $25/person. Please email cancel@goldendognh.com.

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
RiverWalk Brewing Company is located at 40 Parker Street, Newburyport, MA. Watch for additional directions and parking instructions which will be sent 24 hours prior to the event.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING AN EVENT:

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. If you are registered, you will also receive a cancellation announcement via email.
