MEMBERS ONLY: Easter Celebration and Picnic

Join us this Easter for a fun, relaxed, members-only adventure at Fort Foster & Kittery Point Shore Trail in Kittery Point, Maine. We’ll enjoy a scenic hike, a laid-back picnic, and a long-leash beach social to celebrate the holiday together.

This 1.5–2 mile loop trail offers a beautiful forest setting and is suitable for all skill levels. Along the way, we’ll take in coastal views, explore natural terrain, and enjoy a peaceful group walk with our dogs.

Following the hike, we’ll gather in a grassy picnic area with tables for a picnic. Please bring lunch and drinks for yourself and your dog(s). (No glass; carry in/carry out.) We’ll provide a special dessert for both humans and pups.

We’ll also spend time at the dog-friendly beach just beyond the pier, where dogs can enjoy the sand and water on a long lead. Please note: Fort Foster requires leashes between 10:00am–3:00pm, limits long lines to 10 feet, and allows off-leash time after 3:00pm.

Come celebrate Easter with movement, connection, and a little extra fun for both ends of the leash.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2-3. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. Dogs must remain on leash on the trail, which is mostly wide with some narrower sections and opportunities to step off and create space if needed. While the area can be busy depending on weather, we anticipate lighter traffic due to the holiday, and there are open spaces including the dog beach for added flexibility. You are always welcome to attend without your dog if they would feel uncomfortable in this environment. Members, if you register and cannot attend, please cancel within 48 hours to avoid a cancellation fee of $25/person. This allows members on the waitlist to have a chance to go if you cannot. Thank you!

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING AN EVENT:
Please review our Club Guidelines, sign our Liability Waivers & Release Forms, and read our covid guidelines on our Events & Activities page. Please note that retractable leashes as well as aversive training tools such as prong/pinch, choke, bark control, shock, and spray collars are not allowed at our events.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Those who have registered will also receive an email announcement.
