MEMBER ONLY: Strawberry Moon Celebration

**THIS EVENT IS FOR MEMBERS ONLY AND THEIR FAMILIES**

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Members, join us for a fun adventure Golden Dog style as we celebrate June’s full moon known as the Strawberry Moon with a social at Smuttynose Brewing Co. and viewing at Long Sands Beach in York, ME.

Our celebration begins at the Smuttynose Brewing Co. Beer Garden. Bring a picnic supper, sample some fruity new releases from Smuttynose, and enjoy fresh baked strawberry shortcake prepared by Owner/Founder Traci Bisson especially for members and their families. We will have a special treat for our furry BFF members as well.

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the “Strawberry Moon” name has been used by Native American Algonquian tribes that live in the northeastern United States as well as the Ojibwe, Dakota, and Lakota peoples to mark the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that are ready to be gathered.

Afterwards, we will travel about 30 minutes to Long Sands Beach and gather to watch the rising of the Strawberry Full Moon. Bring long leads for your dog, walk the beach, and enjoy a beautiful evening at the ocean to celebrate the month of June and all things strawberry! The sun sets at 8:19pm.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
The gathering area on the lawn at Smuttynose is good sized with areas to spread out. We do not know how many other people may be at the beer garden however, who are not with our group. Please keep this in mind when deciding if you want to attend the social at the brewery. You are welcome to join us for the beach gathering only if preferred. COST: Please register below for the option you prefer.  

• STRAWBERRY MOON VIEWING & CELEBRATION (6:00 – 9:00pm): The social is limited to 25 people. Members, you may reserve 1 additional ticket only for an adult over 21 years old. Please choose 2 tickets when reserving.

• STRAWBERRY MOON VIEWING ONLY (7:30 – 9:00pm): The viewing only is limited to 35 people. Members, you may reserve up to 4 tickets (2 adults and 2 children under age 18). Please choose 4 tickets when reserving.

Members, you will receive an event reminder 24 hours prior to the event with all the details. 

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
Smuttynose Brewing Co. is located at 105 Towle Farm Rd., Hampton, NH.

The midpoint of Long Sands Beach is located at 189 Long Beach Ave., York, ME. Parking is along the road. You will need to pay to park this time of year.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
