MEMBERS ONLY: New Year’s Day Walk @ Northwood Meadows State Park

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk is for official Club members only. Our Community events will start up again in February. Please check the Events & Activities calendar for additional details.

Every year in January, we host a New Year’s walk at Northwood Meadows State Park. It is the place where we launched our first official Club walk in January of 2019 (1st test walk was December 2018 at Blue Job). Members only are invited to join us to ring in the New Year. Start 2022 off in a positive way by joining your canine and human friends for some fresh air and exercise.

We will hike the Huckins Orchard Trail from the parking lot to the Lake Trail loop and back for approximately 2.7 miles. We do expect the trail to be icy and highly recommend YakTrax or ice cleats depending on conditions.

TRAIL RATING:
Level 1.5, hike is just under 3 miles roundtrip with a 108 ft. elevation gain. Trail is mostly flat with some narrow areas and inclines. See trail map. Proper footwear is highly recommended.

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
The State Park is located just off Route 4 in Northwood at 755 First NH Turnpike. Look for our check-in table.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING AN EVENT:

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
