MEMBERS ONLY: Stroll and Lunch for Mother’s Day

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk is for official Club members only. There are two events offered on Mother’s Day for members only. Please only choose one event to allow other members an opportunity.

Join us Sunday morning for a relaxing stroll to celebrate our dog- and human-mom members in Wells, ME. The Rachel Carson NWR is a picturesque walk that was established to protect valuable salt marshes and estuaries for migratory birds. We will walk the 1 mile Carson Trail which passes through coastal forests and offers view of one of southern Maine’s most valuable ecosystems–the salt marsh. At some of the numbered stops, benches are provided for resting, observing wildlife, or to take time to read the descriptions from the Trail Guide. The Carson Trail is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.

After, we will gather for lunch at the Maine Diner. They have a beautiful outside, dog-friendly area overlooking their gardens.

TRAIL RATING:
This trail is rated as Level 1. It is an easy 1 mile walk with wide, flat trails.

COST: Tickets are limited to 15 people

• Members – N/C, please reserve your tickets below (does not include the cost of food)
• Non-Members – This walk is for official Club members only.

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
The Rachel Carson NWR is located at 321 Port Road, Wells, ME. The Maine Diner is located at 2265 Post Road, Wells, ME.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING AN EVENT:

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and registered participants will receive a email cancellation notice. It will also be announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
