MEMBERS ONLY: Thanksgiving Day What Are You Thankful For Hike

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Members, join us Thanksgiving Day morning for some exercise and stimulation for you and your dog before the big turkey celebration and potential chaos that sometimes comes with the day.

For this adventure, we will explore the beautiful trails at Piscassic Greenway in Newfields, another S.E.L.T. property. We will walk between 3-4 miles starting at Gate 5 off Bald Hill Road in Newfields, to the Byrne Trail and wildlife viewing area, and back. Please note that we will be crossing a large bridge over water.

Participants are encouraged to write down one thing they are thankful for when they check-in. These thoughts will be collected and circulated randomly to participants for sharing at the peaceful wildlife viewing area.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
The trails here are mostly wider and would be appropriate for reactive dogs. We anticipate it will also be quiet on Thanksgiving morning. When we stop to gather and share thanks, if your dog is uncomfortable, there is room to distance yourself from the group.  If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.

TRAIL RATING:
Piscassic Greenway is rated as Level 1.5 Moderate. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System. Proper footwear is highly recommended since leaves cover the trails and roots/rocks may be hidden. There are also a few muddy areas. See trail map.

COST: Please register for this event below. You may also register other family members when you sign up who will be arriving in the same car with you.

Members, if you register and cannot attend, please cancel within 48 hours to avoid a cancellation fee of $25/person. 

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
Please park in the small lot at Gate 5 located across from the house at 57 Bald Hill Road in Newfields, NH. If the lot is full, there is parking on the road. See trail map for Gate 5 location. More info will be sent 24 hours prior to the event start time.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING AN EVENT:

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
