MEMBERS ONLY: Thanksgiving Day What Are You Thankful For Hike

Members, join us on Thanksgiving morning for a refreshing hike that will set a positive tone for your day. Before the turkey, pie, and all the celebrations (and the potential chaos that can come with them), take some time for yourself and your dog to enjoy exercise, fresh air, and the company of our community.

For this holiday adventure, we’ll explore the peaceful trails at Piscassic Greenway in Newfields, one of S.E.L.T.’s beautiful conserved properties. Our route will be approximately 2.5 miles, beginning at Gate 5 off Bald Hill Road. We’ll travel along the Byrne Trail to the wildlife viewing area before returning the same way, as the Otis Hill Trail is currently closed. Please note that this hike includes crossing a large bridge over water.

To add a touch of gratitude to our morning, at check-in each guest will be invited to write down one thing they are thankful for. These reflections will then be shared randomly among participants at the quiet wildlife viewing area—a simple way to pause, connect, and honor the spirit of Thanksgiving.

Come join us for movement, mindfulness, and meaningful moments before the day’s festivities begin.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. The trails here are mostly wider and would be appropriate for reactive dogs. In the past, it has been quiet here on Thanksgiving morning. When we stop to gather and share thanks, if your dog is uncomfortable, there is room to increase their thresh hold distance.  If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.

TRAIL RATING:
Piscassic Greenway is rated as Level 1.5 Moderate. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System. Proper footwear is highly recommended since leaves cover the trails and roots/rocks may be hidden. There are also a few muddy areas. See trail map.

COST: Please register for this event below. You may also register other family members when you sign up who will be arriving in the same car with you.

Members, if you register and cannot attend, please cancel within 48 hours to avoid a cancellation fee of $25/person. This allows members on the waiting list to join the adventure.

Piscassic Greenways is located in Newfields, NH. All the details will be sent 24 hours prior to the event start time.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
