MEMBERS ONLY: Winter Hike at Northwood Meadows

Shake off the winter blues and join us for a January winter hike at Northwood Meadows State Park. Bring along your favorite canine and human companions for a refreshing adventure through the scenic trails of this beautiful park.

We’ll cover approximately 2-3 miles as we hike the Huckins Orchard Trail to the Lake Trail Loop, taking in the crisp air and peaceful winter landscapes. Icy paths are expected, so we highly recommend YakTrax or ice cleats for a safe and enjoyable experience. Let’s make the most of winter with this invigorating hike with friends.-

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. Dogs must be on leash at this trail. The trail is mostly wide but does get narrower in locations. There are places to step off if we meet an oncoming dog. Depending on the weather, this may be a busy trail. Please remember that you are also welcome to attend without your dog if you feel this would be an uncomfortable setting for them. TRAIL RATING:
The Huckins Orchard Trail to the Lake Trail Loop is rated as Level 2.5 Moderate. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System. Proper footwear is highly recommended since leaves cover the trails and roots/rocks may be hidden. There may also a few muddy areas. If snow/ice, we highly recommend YakTrax or ice cleats.

COST: Please register for this event below. You may also register other family members when you sign up who will be arriving in the same car with you.

Additional information will be emailed to registered participants 24 hours prior to the start time. Members, if you register and cannot attend, please cancel within 48 hours to avoid a cancellation fee of $25/person.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Registered participants will also receive an email.
