MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE: Pick Wild Blueberries on Blue Job
ABOUT THE EVENT:
New this year, we are introducing monthly mountain adventures based on survey feedback from members. You wanted something more challenging so we are rolling out new events through the fall to explore some of New Hampshire’s most beautiful small and large mountains.
This month, we will climb an easier mountain and reap the rewards with beautiful views and wild blueberries. We will hike the Blue Job Mountain Loop Trail to the fire tower and then to the summit at 1,240 feet. From late July to early August, you can find loads of wild blueberries on this mountain. We will try our luck and see what we can find. No guarantees. Bring a container to safely store and carry your berries. This is approximately a 2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail.
TRAIL RATING:
The Trail is rated as Level 2.5-3 Moderate. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System. The trail has a steady incline at the beginning and then becomes gradually easier to the summit. Trails are narrow. Elevation gain is 426 feet.
COST: Tickets are limited to 15 people.
- Members – $20/person Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART.
- Non-members – $30/person
Full refund issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after.
DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
The Blue Job trailhead is on First Crown Point Road in Strafford, NH (summit is in Farmington). First Crown Point Road is accessed off the north side of Rt. 202A, 3.9 miles east of Rt. 126 and 4.5 miles west of Rt. 202. The large parking area is 4.8 miles down this road, on the right. (Beware! This is NH and there is also Crown Point Road and Second Crown Point Road placed there especially to confuse out-of-towners by the ancient pioneers.)
