NATURE WALK: Spring Birding Extravaganza with Nature Education Opportunities
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join us for a spring birding adventure to identify birds through sounds and behaviors at the Rockingham Rail Trail. This approximately 3 mile walk will be led by Kelly Dwyer, naturalist, award-winning environmental educator, and owner of Nature Education Opportunities.
You have become a keen observer of your dog’s communication through learning the meaning behind various barks, whines and behaviors. Let’s apply these observation skills to the avian world as we explore the beautiful habitats along a section of the Rockingham Rail Trail, welcoming back migrating birds and celebrating our year-round resident feathered friends!
Along our walk, we will discuss and examine:
- Ground-breaking new research behind bird behavior and communication.
- Territory establishment, mate selection and nesting strategies.
- Tips and techniques to identify birds through field marks, song and habitat location.
Your future walks with your pups will take on a new dimension of joy and engagement as you will be able to recognize many birds along the trails!
A special chew treat will be provided as stimulation for dogs at each birding stop. If your dog has allergies, please alert us at woof@goldendognh.com.
