OFFICIAL CLUB ADVENTURE: Intro to FUN-gility and Parkour

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Kristine Thurston and Ashley Clark of You and Your Dog Training & Services in New Boston, NH will lead this month’s Official Club Adventure focused on having fun with outdoor physical activities such as Dog Agility and Parkour.

We will start our adventure at You and Your Dog Training & Services where participants will learn handling skills and have an introduction to Agility equipment. After, we will take a short drive to a local trail to learn about Parkour and try out some of nature’s obstacles. This trail runs along the river and if the water is not too high, we will stop for a swim in the cool water.

Lastly, we will travel up the road to Dodge Farm for a sweet treat and wrap up of our learning-focused adventure with Kristine & Ashley.

During this adventure, you will:

• Learn about Agility and Parkour;
• Discover how to use the skills learned to help improve your dog’s balance, coordination, and fitness;
• Explore new places with your dog;
• Learn new skills to incorporate into your walks and training routines.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
At You and Your Dog Training & Services, the dogs will be spread out and visual barriers can be provided using the cars for dogs that need additional support. On the trail, there are places where another dog could be passing within 6 feet, especially near the water which may be uncomfortable for your dog. At YYDTS and on the trail, we will work on focused activities that teach confidence building which is good for reactive dogs. COST: Please register for this event below. Limited to 15 people.

• Golden Dog Members – $30/person (Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART.)

ABOUT YOU AND YOUR DOG TRAINING & SERVICES:
Ashley Clark CPDT-KA and Kristine Thurston CPDT-KA are the team behind You and Your Dog Training & Services (YYDTS).

YYDTS is a small training center that focuses on the relationship between people and their dogs. Their approach is not only personal but is science based using the current research in canine behavior.

Ashley & Kristine initiate communication with dogs by working with them, not against them, using positive reinforcement. This is done by understanding dog behavior, ethology, and working with the individual dog’s natural desires.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and registered participants will receive a email cancellation notice. It will also be announced in the Event section of the Facebook Community Group and on this Calendar page.
