OFFICIAL CLUB WALK: Dog Parkour @ the Barrington Town Forest

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This Official Club Walk will be the last one offered in 2021. If you are one official Club event away from earning your Club T-shirt then this is the one to attend.

Join us for a 1.3 mile walk at the Barrington Town Forest with Red Pointy Dog Training. This easy loop trail includes many natural and manmade elements that can be used for Dog Parkour.

Through Dog Parkour, dogs get introduced to the world of jumping, climbing, balancing over, crawling under, and going around different obstacles. Depending on the weather, we will include several exercises and stretches for dogs on our walk.

Dog Parkour instills confidence and strengthens the human-canine bond. Dogs who participate in parkour oftentimes gain confidence and learn how to better and more safely move their bodies when active. This activity also helps dogs to create a unique bond with their people while enjoying more time outside.

Participants will receive an entry towards our December giveaways (must sign in), which will be drawn on January 3rd.

Please note that the leaders of this event are not and do not claim to be certified professional dog trainers. 

TRAIL RATING:
This trail rating is Level 1-1.5. We will walk trails that are relatively flat, with some inclines. Many trails are narrow. Trail has an elevation gain of 88 ft.

COST: Please preregister below for this event. To better manage our numbers, only registered participants will be allowed to attend.

• Non-members – $7/person
• Purchase a 10-walk punch card for $60 (good for Pack Adventures, Doggy Socials (w/o an expert), Official Club Walks, and Pop Up Walks)

Full refunds issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after. 

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
From the intersection of Routes 9 and 125 in Barrington: Take Route 9 West. Go 4.5 miles to Swain Road. Turn left onto Swain Road. Go 1.1 miles on Swain Road (hard-top) and then another 0.4 miles on dirt to the driveway into the Town Forest parking lot (on the right). The lot is hard to see from the road; it is about 150 yards beyond a white with red trim manufactured home on the right and opposite a grey house on the left.
