ABOUT THE EVENT:
In Part 2 of our hands-on health check series with Dr. Lisa Boyer of Animal Health Consultants, we move beyond the surface to explore your dog’s internal health—what you can’t see, but may be able to detect through careful observation.
This session focuses on the subtle but important signs that something may be off inside your dog’s body. From sleep patterns to bathroom habits and behavior changes, Dr. Boyer will teach you how to identify early red flags and know when it’s time to consult your veterinarian.

Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, caring for a senior dog, or simply want to be more in tune with your dog’s wellness, this session will equip you with practical tools and knowledge you can use every day.

What You’ll Learn:

• How to monitor your dog’s hydration levels and why it matters
• Tracking sleep-wake cycles and changes in energy levels
• What your dog’s bathroom habits reveal about internal health
• How to measure resting respiratory rate and temperature
• Understanding signs of discomfort, gastrointestinal upset, or possible endocrine issues
• When to call your vet—and when to wait
• Recommended tools for at-home monitoring (thermometer, stethoscope, activity trackers, etc.)

You’ll also receive a printable observation checklist to help track your dog’s internal health between vet visits.

ABOUT LISA BOYER, DVM:
Dr. Lisa Boyer is the owner of Animal Health Consultants and has dedicated 23 years to practicing as an emergency veterinarian. She regularly shares her knowledge as a featured speaker in the Golden Dog “Ask the Veterinarian” series.

In addition to her veterinary practice, Dr. Boyer is an enthusiast of canine sports and a professional in integrative medicine, trained in both western medicine and holistic modalities such as acupuncture and canine fitness. She also works as a dog trainer and breeder.

She has authored numerous articles for sporting dog magazines, contributing significantly to the field.
