ONLINE EVENT: What’s Really in Your Dog’s Bowl?
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Dog food has become one of the most confusing—and emotionally charged—topics for pet owners. With so many conflicting opinions and trends, it’s no wonder people feel overwhelmed when trying to understand macros, micros, and how to make smarter feeding choices for their dog.
Kibble vs. fresh. Grain-free vs. whole grain. Raw vs. cooked. Expensive vs. “cheap.”
Everyone has an opinion. Marketing is everywhere. And most dog owners are left wondering:
“Am I feeding my dog the right thing?”
In this month’s Ask the Vet, Dr. Lisa Boyer breaks nutrition down in a way that actually makes sense. You’ll learn what your dog truly needs, how different feeding approaches compare, and how to make confident, practical decisions without getting pulled in every direction.
What we’ll cover:
- What macronutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates) actually do in your dog’s body
- The role of micronutrients and why balance matters more than trends
- How to think about commercial diets vs. home-prepared meals
- When your dog’s food is already complete—and when it may be lacking
- Common myths around “premium,” “natural,” and “fresh” pet foods
- How to evaluate whether your dog’s current diet is truly working for them
- How to feed well in a way that fits your real-life budget and lifestyle
