PACK ADVENTURE: Canine Enrichment Walk and Social

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Pack Adventures are hiking events that happen during the week. They attract a smaller number of people which is perfect for dogs that need some additional space in a group.

The 1.5 mile Charles E. Rand Memorial S.E.L.T. trail in North Hampton, NH is jam-packed with canine enrichment opportunities. The trail is frequented by horses that leave all kinds of engaging smells for dogs. In addition, we will take advantage of nature’s snuffle mat with a few scatter feeding activities. Scatter feeding is a fun way to encourage your dog to interact with the natural environment. It also provides excellent mental stimulation and as a low arousal activity, it calms highly strung or stressed dogs.

Please bring a long lead so your dog can enjoy the enrichment opportunities along the trail.

After, join us at dog-friendly Throwback Brewery in North Hampton for some tasting of fall flavors and food. Lots of room for people and dogs to spread out. The small farm at this location also includes rich sights and smells for dogs to enjoy, including chickens, goats, and a donkey.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
We don’t anticipate too much traffic on the trail during the afternoon. The trail is mostly wide with several opportunities to step off the trail safely in case a dog approaches. This is a good trail to walk a reactive dog. The brewery also has lots of space to spread out on their lawn area away from the building. Full refund issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after.

To access the parking area and and trail head, use 3 North Road, North Hampton, NH. You will see our car with signs.

Throwback Brewery is located at 7 Hobbs Road, North Hampton, NH.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
