SPECIAL EVENT: Date Night With the Dog Aviation Archaeological Hike & Social

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join Golden Dog Adventure Co. for a special midweek Date Night with a Dog featuring environmentalist, outdoor enthusiast, and author Linda Magoon. This two-for-one adventure includes an easy, educational walk through Spruce Swamp Conservation Area in Brentwood, NH, followed by a relaxed social at Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown, just 10 miles from the trail.

Along the trail, Linda will share the fascinating story of a historic B-52 crash connected to this quiet conservation area, point out visible aircraft remnants, and offer insight into the history still resting in the woods.

This is a relaxed, dog-friendly outing with time to walk, listen, observe, and enjoy nature, your pup, and great company.

After the walk, we’ll head to Zorvino Vineyards’ dog-friendly upper patio overlooking the vineyards, where you can sip, snack, and soak in the view. There will also be live music. Summer menu available soon for preordering.

Because parking is limited, registration is for two people attending together in the same vehicle.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2-3. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. The trail is narrower in places but there are places to pull to the side with your dog and wait for people to pass if needed. We anticipate the area to be relatively quiet on a weekday evening. We will have our own comfortable space at Zorvino’s but dogs will be closer to one another. TRAIL RATING:
The Trail is rated as Level 1.5 Stroll. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System. The trail has a 59 foot elevation gain.

COST: Tickets are limited to 8 couples. Scroll down to purchase. Please arrive in the same car to help with parking.

• Not-yet-members – $50/couple

Full refund issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after. 

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
To access the parking area for the trailhead, set your GPS for #292 Calef Highway (Route 125), Brentwood, NH. It’s a little confusing as you need to head down a private driveway and then bang a left. More info will be emailed to guests 24 hours before the start time.

Zorvino Vineyards is located at 226 Main Street in Sandown, NH.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Participants who have registered will also receive a cancellation announcement via email.
