PACK ADVENTURE: Halloween Beach Walk & Social

ABOUT THE EVENT:
🎃👻 Join Us for a Howling Good Time on Halloween Day! 👻🎃

Gather your pups and costumes (optional) and join us at Fort Foster & Kittery Point Shore Trail for an unexpectedly warm Halloween beach day! This scenic 2.1-mile loop trail, nestled in Kittery, Maine, offers an easy-going trek through the forest, perfect for nature lovers, bird watchers, and those who simply enjoy a stroll.

🐾 Dog-Friendly Fun: Starting at 3:00 pm, dogs are welcome to enjoy the trail off-leash! The dog beach, located just right of the pier, is a perfect spot for recall-trained pups to run free and splash around in the waves. Prefer to keep them close? A long lead lets your dog enjoy some safe, splashy freedom. With low tide at 4:57 pm, there will be plenty of room to explore, swim, and enjoy the sandy shore.

After the beach fun, join us for some tastes of the season at Woodland Farms Brewery in Kittery, ME. Located off the main shopping strip, this brewery welcomes dogs on their patio and inside the taproom. They are home to Maine’s first non-alcohol beers, and also offer a selection of fine fermented ales and lagers. They encourage guests to bring outside food.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 3-4. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. Dogs are allowed off-leash on this trail after 3:00pm. We may encounter off-leash, untrained dogs and since we will allow participants to have their dogs off-leash, we do not recommend this outing for dogs that will be uncomfortable if approached by an off leash dog. Because of the warm weather, we do expect this trail to be busy. Please remember that you are also welcome to attend without your dog if you feel this would be an uncomfortable setting for them. TRAIL RATING:
The Kittery Point Shore Trail is rated as Level 1-1.5 Stroll. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System. The trail is flat but sometimes narrow through the woods. Will require crossing short bridges constructed from boards. The ocean trail is a wide, flat, gravel path.

Full refund issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after.

For Foster is located at 51 Pocahontas Rd, Kittery Point, ME. All the details and logistics you need for a fun and safe event will be emailed the morning of the event.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Participants who have registered will also receive a cancellation announcement via email.
