PACK ADVENTURE: Hike and Cider Tasting

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Pack Adventures are hiking adventures that happen during the week. They attract a smaller group of people which is perfect for dogs that need some additional space in a group.

Celebrate the start of fall with us as we hike the rural part of the Dover Community Rail Trail, which begins on Watson Rd. in Dover and is wide and flat. We will hike approximately 3.7 miles to the end of the trail and back. This will be a moderately paced hike. If you and your dog are slower and your dog wants more time to engage with the surroundings and sniff, not a problem. Take your time and we will catch up with you on our return. This is a neutral event with opportunities for parallel walking in a controlled, welcoming, and positive setting.

After, we will drive to North Country Hard Cider to sample the tastes of fall like Cranbarrel, Hop Shire, Banango Crush, and Squashed (seasonal). We will keep an eye out to see if any food trucks will be visiting on this day. You are also welcome to bring snacks or a picnic supper while we enjoy relaxing on the deck together.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 1.5-2 (trail) 2-3 (Cidery). See our Comfort Chart for explanation. The Dover Community Rail Trail should be quiet during the week and hopefully, we will not see many people. It the weather is really nice, it may be busier than usual. The trail is wide with plenty of area to move over or step off if needed. North Country Hard Cider also has a large deck with room to spread out. We do not know how busy their deck will be on a Thursday evening. Dogs are also allowed inside the building. This adventure takes place in Dover, NH – all the details will be emailed to participants 24 hours prior to the start time.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and registered participants will receive an email cancellation notice. It will also be announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
