PACK ADVENTURE: Hike at Oyster River Forest
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Pack Adventures are hiking events that happen during the week. They attract a smaller group of people which is perfect for dogs that need some additional space in a group.
For this Pack Adventure, we will hike the Oyster River Forest and Spruce Hole Conservation Area located off of Packers Falls Road in Durham. We will follow the Oyster River Trail to the Oyster River Bridge in UNH College Woods. This 3.5 mile round trip trail passes through an oak-pine forest, a restored meadow and shrub habitat, then winds through the forest along the Oyster River. Side trails lead along historic stonewalls, past an old foundation, and under huge white oak, shagbark hickory, and pitch pine trees.
IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
This is usually a quiet trail that has wide and narrow paths as well as an open field area. We feel reactive dogs would do well on this trail. If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.
