PACK ADVENTURE: Hike up Mt. Ripley in Barrington
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Pack Adventures are hiking events that happen during the week. They attract a smaller group of people which is perfect for dogs that need some additional space in a group.
For this adventure, we are headed to Barrington for a 3.4 mile hike up Mt. Ripley at the Samuel A. Tamposi Water Supply Reserve (SATWaSR). The 345 ft. hill is named after a golden retriever who, according to legend, was the first to discover it.
SATWaSR is a substantial trail network that covers a 1400 acre conservation area, protecting the headwaters of the Bellamy and Oyster Rivers. The mostly wooded trails traverse by wetlands, cedar swamps, and recently cleared shrubby areas created for wildlife habitat.
The trail is rated a 1-1.5. The trails are mostly wide, some narrow areas and perhaps a small brook to traverse. Mt. Ripley is an easy 345 ft. climb.
Tickets are limited to 15 people. Scroll down to purchase.
