PACK ADVENTURE: Howl-o-Ween Social at Flag Hill

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Gather your favorite humans and hounds for a Howl-o-Ween evening at Flag Hill! We’re bringing together a fall vineyard walk, a creative team costume contest, and time to enjoy drinks and dinner with your Golden Dog friends.

We’ll begin by exploring the vineyards, following the dirt road out to the back of the property before heading down to see the resident farm animals. There will be plenty to sniff and enjoy along the way!

During the vineyard stroll from 5:00 – 6:oopm, costume judging will take place. Then, from 6:00–7:00 p.m., we’ll settle onto the deck for drinks, dinner, and conversation. The entire deck is reserved just for our gathering, so we’ll have our own space to relax and celebrate together.

Team Costume Contest:

Here’s your chance to get creative together! This contest is for human-and-dog teams, whether that’s you and your pup, two handlers and one dog, or your whole group of people and dogs dressed around a shared theme.

Judging will focus on two things:

1. Creativity: How imaginatively your team brings its costume idea to life.
2. Canine comfort: How thoughtfully your team includes your dogs while keeping them visibly comfortable and able to move and explore naturally.

Winning teams will receive:

• First place: A complimentary tasting and tour for four people, generously donated by Flag Hill.
• Second and third place: Gift cards.

Comfort Before Costumes:

• The best costume is one your dog feels good wearing. Anything your dog wears should allow them to see, hear, breathe, and move freely. Avoid pieces that block their eyes or ears, restrict movement, or involve hats and headwear they aren’t comfortable wearing.
• If your dog doesn’t enjoy dressing up, please don’t ask them to. Let the humans carry the costume theme and give your dog a role that allows them to come as they are. A clever team idea can absolutely include a dog wearing nothing beyond their usual walking gear.

Costumes are optional for this gathering, and you’re welcome to join us simply for the walk and social time.

Bring your imagination, your dog’s favorite treats, and an appetite for a little Halloween fun at both ends of the leash!

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2-3. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. This is a peaceful area with lots of room to spread out on the trails and mostly wide paths. We will spread out on the dog-friendly deck, but your dog will have a clear line of site to other dogs around them. Fortunately, all dogs should be more relaxed after the walk. TRAIL RATING:
The Vineyard Trails are rated as Level 1 Stroll. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System.

COST: Limited to 15 dogs, 1 dog/person for maximum happiness is encouraged. Please scroll down to purchase.

• Does not include food/drink at Flag Hill which can be purchased separately.
• Not-Yet Members – $35/person

DIRECTIONS/PARKING:
Flag Hill Distillery & Winery is located at 297 North River Road in Lee, NH. Additional details will be emailed to guests 24 hours prior to the event.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE JOINING AN EVENT:
Please review our Club Guidelines, sign our Liability Waivers & Release Forms, and read our covid guidelines on our Events & Activities page. Please note that retractable leashes as well as aversive training tools such as prong/pinch, choke, bark control, shock, and spray collars are not allowed at our events.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Those who have registered will also receive an email announcement.
