PACK ADVENTURE: Walk at Burley Farms with Laura Gendron
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Pack Adventures are hiking events that happen during the week. They attract a smaller group of people which is perfect for dogs that need some additional space in a group.
Burley Farms is a club favorite so we are headed back to this location with this month’s featured expert and certified professional dog trainer Laura Gendron of Miss Behavior.
We will hike the red and green trails for approximately 1.5 miles utilizing several natural features to practice our canine fitness.
Burley Farms includes 238 acres of fields, forests, and wetlands, running along both sides of North River Road to unmaintained Range Road to the north and Dimond Hill Road to the east. Hayfields and shrubland abut an expansive 40-acre beaver pond, which hosts myriad wildlife, including a great blue heron rookery. The remaining land is a mix of forests and links to other land conserved by SELT along the Wild and Scenic Lamprey River.
This location is a great place to practice relaxation protocol with your dog in a controlled environment and with our training partner.
IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
The trails are wider and the farm is usually a quieter hiking area. We feel this would be a good area to bring your reactive dog. There is room to step off the trail if the snow is not too high and visibility is good. If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.
