PACK ADVENTURE: Wildcat Falls & Apple Picking in Merrimack
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Pack Adventures are hiking events that happen during the week. They attract a smaller group of people which is perfect for dogs that need some additional space in a group.
We will walk approximately 1.5-2 miles exploring Wildcat Falls Conservation Area in Merrimack, NH. Wildcat Falls Conservation Area contains 87 acres of managed pine/hardwoods forest, abuts the Souhegan River and includes Wildcat Falls, a popular area. A PSNH power line crosses the land and provides an excellent area for bird watching. An area cleared of trees as the result of a forest fire provides excellent views of the Souhegan River and an opportunity to watch for the elusive American kestrel and other wildlife.
We will make our way down to the falls and dog beach. Please bring a long lead so your dog can enjoy some swimming if desired.
After, we will drive 5 miles to Currier Orchards for some apple picking and purchasing of yummy baked goods.
This Trail is rated as Level 1.5-2 Moderate. This path is mostly flat and wide but does narrow and and gets steeper towards the sand pit. There is a section that also has many protruding roots. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System.
