POP UP ADVENTURE: End of Summer Beach Social

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This Adventure is part of a series that “pop up” on the calendar throughout the year. It gives our dog loving community the opportunity to get out more and enjoy fresh air and friends.

Join us for a fun evening at Short Sands Beach in York, ME to celebrate and commemorate the end of summer. We will explore the beach, tidepool, and let the dogs play in the water and socialize. Please bring a long lead for your dog.

Bring a picnic supper for you and your dog, and a chair and/or a beach blanket and enjoy the company of like-minded people. No glass bottles.

After, we will walk into town to see if taffy is being made at the candy store and watch this process through the windows. We will also visit the York fire station for biscuits and water, and then walk over to dog-friendly York Beach Beer Co. to sample some brews like Dancing Madly Backwards or Orange Mainesicle Cream Ale.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
We anticipate the number of dogs at the beach on a Saturday night, this time of year, to be smaller than normal. Dogs are also required to be on leash. If you feel your dog may be uncomfortable with the walk into town or a visit to the brewery, you are welcome to participate without your dog or remain on the beach to enjoy some additional moments of summer. This adventure is rated Level 1, flat and wide.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
