POP UP ADVENTURE: From the Mountain to the Sea

ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk is part of a series of adventures that “pop up” on the calendar throughout the year. It gives members the opportunity to get out more and enjoy fresh air and friends.

There are those of us who love the mountains, while others prefer the sea. In this fun outing, we will experience the best of both options.

Join us as we begin our adventure with a stroll on the 1-mile BIG A trail loop at the top of Mt. Agamenticus. This trail circles the summit through the shrublands and around the field with breathtaking views all the way to Boston and the Presidential Range as well as the Atlantic Ocean.

TAKE THE Mt. AGAMENTICUS PET PLEDGE: participate in the adventure, sign the pledge, include your email, and be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Mount Agamenticus dog bandana in blaze orange! https://form.jotform.com/231805717883060. The raffle will be held Monday, August 7th.

Afterwards, we will take a short 8 mile drive over to Long Sands at York Beach, Maine for a stroll along the beach and splashing on long leads in the water.

To finish off the evening, we will gather for a sweet treat at Dunne’s Ice Cream and walk over to Nubble Light to watch the sunset at 8:00pm.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
The trail at The BIG A is wide and there is room for other dogs and their people to pass safely. There will be lots of room at the beach as well. The only place where reactive dogs may get a bit uncomfortable would be at the ice cream shop where space is a more limited. COST: Tickets are limited to 15 people. Scroll down to purchase.

• Golden Dog Members – $25/person* includes parking fee at summit. (Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART.)
• Not-Yet Members – $35/person* includes parking fee at summit.
• Purchase a 10-walk punch card at a discount (good for Pack Adventures, and Pop Up Adventures)
• *Does not include food/drink. Dunne’s only accepts cash.

Southern Maine; the address and directions will be emailed to participants 24 hours prior to the adventure.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
