POP UP ADVENTURE: Hike and Swim at the Village Spur Rail Trail with Michelle Rosenblatt
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join Golden Dog for a hike and ice cream social with Local Adventure Guide* Michelle Rosenblatt of Nutrastep. She will lead us on a special summer hike at one of her all-time favorite trails — Village Spur Rail Trail in Belmont, NH.
Join us for a relaxing summer outing on the Village Spur Rail Trail in Belmont, NH—a hidden gem that’s perfect for dogs and handlers of all ages and abilities. This flat, wide, and beautifully maintained rail trail offers a scenic, low-impact walk alongside forested paths, peaceful brooks, and two charming covered bridges.
We’ll begin our adventure near the Emery’s Bridge Rd. entrance and enjoy an easy out-and-back walk (approx. 3–4 miles total) with opportunities for:
- Dog swimming near the trailhead at a calm brook with easy entry and exit
- Parallel walking practice on the wide trail, ideal for reactive or shy dogs
- Stunning natural scenery, shifting from open landscapes to shaded woodlands
- Relaxed pace and flexible turnaround options based on weather and dogs’ energy levels
Post-Walk Social Stop:
After our walk, we’ll caravan (5-minute drive) to the famous Jordan’s Ice Creamery—a NH favorite with picnic tables, grassy areas, and dog-friendly treats like pup cups. It’s the perfect cool-down moment to wrap up the day with a cone in hand and your best friend by your side.
*The Local Adventure Guide Program is a new initiative by Golden Dog Adventure Co. that partners with trusted community members to lead dog-friendly walks and experiences in their local area. These guides are dog professionals or passionate pet guardians who know their trails inside and out and are committed to creating safe, welcoming, and enriching experiences for dogs of all temperaments. The program allows participants to explore new locations with confidence while supporting small businesses and building stronger local connections.
IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. This adventure offers wide, open trails ideal for parallel walking and space management, making it suitable for some reactive dogs with preparation. While the trail is generally quiet, occasional encounters with others may occur, and the optional ice cream stop may be busier. Handlers should bring a long lead, high-value rewards, and be ready to create distance as needed. If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.

Hi, I’m Michelle Rosenblatt! I’m a wellness and fitness coach and the owner of Nutrastep. I am passionate about helping people feel strong, confident, and healthy—inside and out. After losing over 100 pounds and transforming my own life, I’ve made it my mission to guide others on their journey to wellness. I live in Belmont and walk this beautiful trail nearly every day with my dog, Bailey. I love how the scenery shifts with the seasons—from wide open skies to shady woods and peaceful water views. When I’m not leading fitness sessions or helping clients virtually, you’ll find me hiking, running, playing tennis, or chasing sunsets. I’m excited to share one of my favorite local spots with you—and yes, we’ll definitely be stopping for ice cream.
