POP UP ADVENTURE: Hike and Swim at Profile Falls with Laura Brusseau

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join Golden Dog for a Local Adventure Guide* hike with Laura Brusseau, Engagement Manager for The Mayhew Program. Laura will lead us through one of her favorite local spots—Profile Falls and the historic Old Hill Village in Bristol, NH—for a relaxed, scenic outing designed for both dogs and their people.

This easy, 2–3 mile hike offers a mix of water, woods, and open space, including:

• A visit to the beautiful waterfall at Profile Falls
• Access to the Pemigewasset River (perfect for water-loving dogs)
• Flat, wooded trails through the historic Old Hill Village
• Picnic areas and plenty of parking

Post-Walk Social + Community Connection:
After the hike, we’ll head just 15 minutes to Vulgar Brewing in downtown Franklin, NH to gather in their dog-friendly outdoor space for lunch.

Laura will share more about The Mayhew Program and the important work they do supporting at-risk boys across New Hampshire through mentorship and outdoor experiences. You’ll have the chance to relax, connect, and about the organization.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. This adventure offers wide, open trails ideal for parallel walking and space management, making it suitable for some reactive dogs with preparation. While the trail is generally quiet, occasional encounters with others may occur, and the brewery stop may be busier. Handlers should bring high-value rewards and be ready to create distance as needed. MEET YOUR GUIDE: LAURA BRUSSEAU
Laura Brusseau is passionate about supporting youth and building strong, connected communities. With over a decade of experience in nonprofit work and education, she’s been involved in a variety of programs and events that create opportunities for kids to grow and thrive.

She believes deeply in the power of mentorship and has supported programs like the Circle Program, Girl Scouts, Girls on the Run, and Girls Who Hike. At The Mayhew Program, she’s excited to help at-risk boys across New Hampshire build confidence, connection, and a sense of what’s possible.

Outside of work, Laura is an avid hiker who has completed all 48 of NH’s 4,000-foot peaks and spent four years leading hikes with Girls Who Hike NH. She lives in Bristol, NH with her dog, Georgie, and loves any chance to be outside.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Participants will also receive a cancellation email.
