POP UP ADVENTURE: Senior Stroll and Sweet Treat
ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk is part of a series of walks that “pop up” on the calendar throughout the year. It gives members the opportunity to get out more and enjoy fresh air and friends.
Pickering Ponds Trails in Rochester is a Club favorite. No matter what your dog’s age or ability, these trails are perfect. Join us for a relaxing, late afternoon stroll as we enjoy the summer flowers and birds chirping while we walk the grassy, wide trails around the pond.
There are several different options for walking, including a shorter walk around the pond (approximately 3/4 – 1 mile), a longer walk around both ponds (approx. 1.5 miles) or an extended walk which loops along the Cocheco River and has a slight downhill and uphill for the full 2+ miles. Our Adventure Guides Kate and Diane will lead participants on the longer walk, but there are many spots to leave the trail if your dog becomes tired.
After, we will drive 15 minutes to Lone Oak Ice Cream in Rochester for a sweet treat and relaxing at their picnic tables in their shaded, dog-friendly area.
Pickering Ponds Trails are rated as Level 1 Stroll. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System.
