POP UP ADVENTURE: Senior Stroll at Pickering Ponds Trails
ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk is part of a series of walks that “pop up” on the calendar throughout the year. It gives members the opportunity to get out more and enjoy fresh air and friends.
Pickering Ponds Trails in Rochester is a Club favorite. No matter what your dog’s age or ability, these trails are perfect. Join us for a relaxing afternoon stroll as we enjoy the spring flowers popping out all around while we walk the grassy, wide trails around the pond bursting with new life.
There are several different options for walking, including a shorter walk around the pond (approximately 3/4 – 1 mile), a longer walk around both ponds (approx. 1.5 miles) or an extended walk which loops along the Cocheco River and has a slight downhill and uphill for the full 2+ miles. Our Adventure Guides Kate and Marie will lead participants on the longer walk, but there are many spots to leave the trail if your dog becomes tired.
Pickering Ponds Trails are rated Level 1 – 1.5. The trails are wide and mostly flat. The shorter trails are completely flat and perfect for senior dogs and dog’s with special needs. There are 2 short inclines on the trail.
