POP UP ADVENTURE: Walk and Swim at Riverside Park with Diane Morgan
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join Golden Dog for a Local Adventure Guide outing with Diane Morgan, owner of 603 Dog Pawprint Hats, at Riverside Park in Raymond, NH with a social after at Big Dog Pub in Deerfield, NH.
Diane will lead us on an easy, relaxed 2-mile trail hike through Riverside Park, a 62-acre wooded town park along the Lamprey River. This walk in the woods includes wide, mostly flat trails, natural wooded sections, open field areas, and scenic spots that meander along the river.
Along the way, dogs will have time to sniff, explore, and enjoy the natural setting. Weather and river conditions permitting, there may also be opportunities for dogs to cool off or splash near the Lamprey River.
This outing will include:
- A relaxed 2-mile group trail walk
- Wide, mostly flat wooded trails
- Scenic sections along the Lamprey River
- Opportunities for sniffing, exploring, and nature-based enrichment
- Possible water access for dogs, depending on conditions
- Time to enjoy a quieter local spot with other Golden Dog members
At the Social:
After the walk, we’ll head to Big Dog Pub in Deerfield, a 9-mile drive from the trail, for a casual post-adventure social on their dog-friendly patio. This will be a great chance to relax, grab food or drinks, connect with the Golden Dog community, and continue enjoying time together after the walk.
With the support of Golden Dog, you’ll learn how to navigate the venue in a way that helps both you and your dog feel more comfortable. We’ll help you create space when needed, recognize when your dog needs a break, and advocate for them with more confidence around other people, dogs, and activity.
*The Local Adventure Guide Program partners with trusted community members to lead dog-friendly adventures while building connection, confidence, and local community.
IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. Riverside Park is best suited for dogs who can handle a relaxed group walk in a natural public setting. The trails are mostly wide and flat, which should allow room for spacing, but the park may include other visitors, families, children, dogs, and activity near the field, playground, dog park, or river. This outing would be a good fit for dogs who enjoy walking with other dogs at a distance, but it may not be ideal for dogs who are highly reactive to dogs, children, or sudden activity. If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.
