POP UP WALK: Step Back in Time at Monson Center in Hollis
ABOUT THE EVENT:
This walk is part of a series of walks that “pop up” on the calendar throughout the year. It gives members the opportunity to get out more and enjoy fresh air and friends.
We will step back in time as we explore one of the most significant archeological sites in New England. Many of the original foundations of the homes found at this location, were built in the late 1700s.
Monson was an early colonial settlement that existed from 1737-1770 and covered over 17,000 acres. It was part of Massachusetts at its inception. The center of town, main roads, and several foundation holes remain.

In addition, participants will receive an entry towards our October giveaways (must sign in), which will be drawn on November 1st.
Level 1-2, hike is 3 miles roundtrip on wide trails that were former roads through this village. There are several narrow trails off-shooting from the main trails, but each meets up with one of the main trails, and it’s easy to circle back to the center of Monson.
COST: Must preregister for this event. Only registered participants will be able to participate. Registration ends 2 hours prior to start time.
