POP UP TALK: Is Your Dog Trying to Tell You Something? Learn How to Read Their Mind (Almost!)

ABOUT THE EVENT:
In this one-hour session, professional dog trainer and featured expert for May, Laura Gendron, owner of Miss Behavior Training, will help you discover what truly motivates your dog—and how to use that insight to build trust through enrichment, play, and emotional regulation.

You’ll learn how to recognize your dog’s unique behavioral style, better understand why they do what they do, and translate that into meaningful, low-pressure connection strategies.

Through body language observation, real-life motivator tracking, and the creation of “Regulation Stations,” you’ll walk away with a practical, relationship-first framework for supporting your dog in daily life—especially if they’re shy, sensitive, or overwhelmed by typical training expectations.

You will learn how to:

  • Understand the 3 core categories of behavior: Foraging, Hazard Avoidance, and Social Seeking
  • Identify your dog’s individual motivators—beyond food and toys
  • Read arousal levels, body language, and signals of stress or joy
  • Use play and enrichment tools that match your dog’s regulation needs
  • Create simple “connection hacks” for bonding in real-life moments

All participants will receive a downloadable Motivation Map & Connection Menu, including:

  • Prompts to track your dog’s motivators across contexts
  • Sample activities for each behavior category
  • A guide for building a calming “Regulation Station” at home
  • Laura’s full Enrichment Menu, organized by energy level and enrichment type
