POP UP TALK: Understanding the Dog in Front of You

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Ever feel like you’re doing all the “right” things—but your dog is still struggling?

In this interactive session, professional dog trainer Laura Gendron of Miss Behavior Training helps you step back and truly understand what your dog’s behavior is communicating. Instead of focusing on quick fixes, you’ll learn how behavior reflects your dog’s individual needs, experiences, and overall well-being.

Using the concept of behavioral diversity, Laura will show you how to recognize what your dog is naturally expressing, how that may differ from other dogs, and what those differences actually mean.

Participants will also have the option to submit a short video of their dog for a chance to be featured during the session, where Laura will walk through real-life examples and highlight key insights.

You’ll be guided to reflect on your own dog:
What are they showing you?
What might be different about them?
And how might your environment and responses be shaping what you see?

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of your dog
  • More direction on what they actually need
  • Insight into how your role impacts behavior
  • A more thoughtful approach to training and connection

This session is ideal for anyone ready to move beyond surface-level training and better understand the dog in front of them.
