SPECIAL EVENT: 1st Annual Hike & Holiday Party
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join us for our last community event this year as we celebrate the Christmas holiday with a hike at Foster’s Pond Natural Area and after party at Fody’s Tavern in Derry, NH.
We will hike the Foster Pond Loop Trail at Foster’s Pond Natural Area. This trail is approximately 2 miles long. The loop is very pretty year round and has some narrow pathways, but is an easy trail with a 59 ft. elevation gain. There are tree roots exposed in several locations which could be a tripping hazard.
After the hike, grab your ugliest Christmas sweater and join us for lunch and drinks on Fody’s heated, dog-friendly, outside deck to celebrate the upcoming holiday. In addition, there will be a holiday trivia contest. Team up with others at your table to participate for prizes and recognition at our 1st Annual Hike & Holiday Party. The ugliest sweater human, dog, and human/dog team will also be recognized and receive prizes.
IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Dogs must be on leash at this trail. The trail is narrower in locations but there are places to step off if we meet an oncoming dog. There are also many bridges to cross that may cause some dogs anxiety. Seating on the deck at Fody’s will be spread out but could be uncomfortable for dogs that do need additional space. If you have concerns or questions about if this event is right for your dog, please email woof@goldendognh.com for assistance.
TRAIL RATING:
The Foster Pond Loop Trail is rated as Level 1.5 Moderate. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System. Proper footwear is highly recommended since leaves cover the trails and roots/rocks may be hidden. There may also a few muddy areas.
