SPECIAL ADVENTURE: Fall Holiday Sensory Scavenger Hunt at the Mall

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Gratitude is in the air, and so is the spirit of adventure! The Sensory Scavenger Hunt returns just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday season. This unique event, hosted at the dog-friendly Mall at Fox Run, is in partnership with Monica from Barrington Barks & Behavior and April from Healthy Pets NH. Whether your dog is a seasoned sniffer, a curious puppy, or a senior with limited mobility, this enriching experience is the perfect way to celebrate togetherness, give thanks for your four-legged companion, and share a joyful memory before Thanksgiving.

Over 600,000 square feet of mall space will transform into a sensory wonderland, featuring over 25 hidden scents—from fall flavors like allspice, pumpkin spice and apple to earthy flavors like pine and even animal scents like rabbit, coyote, and more. Watch your pup’s nose lead the way as they uncover hidden treasures, and join in the fun with numbered scent dots for humans to experience what their canine companions are smelling.

Event Highlights:

• 25+ Scents to Discover that Celebrate Your Love for Your Dog: pumpkin spice, apple, pine, deer, and more!
• Mini Sensory Stations: Thanksgiving-themed novel objects to promote slow, thoughtful movement and strengthen your bond with your dog.
• Reactive Dog-Friendly: Spacious, clockwise route ensures plenty of room for all teams.
• Expert Guidance: Monica, professional dog trainer, will be on hand to answer questions and offer daily living advice.
• Participation Prize: Every dog receives a yummy treat for their sniff-tastic efforts!
• Massage Sessions: there will be 7-minute massage sessions with April from Healthy Pets NH. She will have a table set up in a quiet area of the Mall where your dog can get some extra pampering and relaxation with a dog massage. Sessions are first come, first serve—sign up at registration.

Event Details:

• Arrive anytime between 8:00–10:00 AM and stay until your dog is content and happy to end their exploration. Please note the event ends at 10:30am so be sure to come early enough to give your dog time to explore.
• Limited to 55 dogs—register early to secure your spot.
• After registering, you’ll receive a link to the Zoom Info Session, where we’ll cover safety guidelines and logistics to ensure a fun, safe, and rewarding experience for you and your dog.
• Room for safety tips and event logistics. (A recording will also be available for registered participants.)
• Scented dots will be positioned along the inside perimeter of the mall for an easy-to-follow route.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 1-2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. This event is excellent for reactive dogs since it is a private event before the Mall opens to the public. There is lots of room to spread out for this enriching and focused activity. • Members – $35/dog and up to 2 people (your discount will be reflected in the cart)
• Not-yet-members – $50/dog and up to 2 people
• Add On – 7-minute massage session with April from Healthy Pets NH for $10/dog
• Please no children under the age of 15

We highly recommend only 1 dog/person for maximum happiness. However, if your dogs like to work as a team, no more than 2 dogs/person please.

Full refunds issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and registered participants will receive a email cancellation notice. It will also be announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page.
