SPECIAL EVENT: Hike and Maple Sugaring Experience 2025

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Experience the magic of maple sugaring and a scenic winter hike with your pup in this one-of-a-kind New England adventure! We’re teaming up with Dill Family Farm in Deerfield, NH, to bring you a fun and flavorful way to enjoy the season. This experience is great for the human and canine “sniffers” since nothing smells better than maple syrup.

Kick off the afternoon with a refreshing hike at Northwood Meadows State Park. We’ll follow the Huckins Orchard Trail to the Lake Trail loop and back, covering approximately 2.0 – 2.5 miles of peaceful woodlands and picturesque views. Expect some icy conditions—YakTrax or ice cleats are highly recommended for a safe and enjoyable trek. This is the perfect chance to soak in crisp winter air while your dog enjoys all the new sights and scents of the trail.

After the hike, head over to Dill Family Farm, a historic 130-acre property that has been producing maple syrup since 2013. Here, you’ll get an insider’s look at the sugaring process, from tree tapping to syrup-making, followed by a private tasting of their delicious maple products. Savor the flavors of fresh maple syrup and piping hot pancakes, with opportunities to purchase goodies in their store.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 2. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. Yes, we feel reactive dogs would be comfortable at this event. The trails at Northwood Meadows State Park are wider with room to step off trail and let others pass depending on snow depth. This is a popular trail and we may see other dogs hiking with their people. There will also be plenty of room to spread out at the farm. • Members – $35/person Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART.
• Non-members – $50/person
• Includes tastings for canines and humans at Dill Family Farm.

Full refund issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after.

If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. If you are registered for this event, you will also receive an email about the cancellation.
