SPECIAL EVENT: Hike and Maple Sugaring Experience in Deerfield

ABOUT THE EVENT:
We are excited to announce a collaboration with Dill Family Farm in Deerfield, NH for this fun and tasty way to end a hike. Maple sugaring is a true New England experience and we have a fun and unique way to share it with your furry family as well as human. Join us for a hike and maple sugaring experience, just a hike or just the maple sugaring experience. The choice is yours on how you want to spend your day with the Club! This experience is great for the human and canine “sniffers” since nothing smells better than maple syrup.

To start our adventure, we will begin with a hike at Northwood Meadows State Park in Northwood, NH. We will hike the Huckins Orchard Trail from the parking lot to the Lake Trail loop and back for approximately 2.7 miles. We do expect the trail to be icy and highly recommend YakTrax or ice cleats depending on conditions.

After, join us at Dill Family Farm to learn about the maple sugaring process and indulge in some sensory exploration. The Dill Family Farmhouse was built in 1792 and sits on 130 acres off of Griffin Road. They built the sugarhouse in 2013 and have over 1,000 taps. At the sugar shack, we will stop for a presentation and private tasting of maple syrup as well as other goodies such as maple cream, maple sugar candy, and more. Items will also be available for purchase.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Yes, we feel reactive dogs would be comfortable at this event. The trails at Northwood Meadows State Park are wider with room to step off trail and let others pass depending on snow depth. This is a popular trail and we may see other dogs hiking with their people. There will also be plenty of room to spread out at the farm. The Northwood Meadows State Park Trail is rated as Level 1.5 Moderate. See an explanation of our Trail Rating System.

COST:
Tickets are limited to 20 people. Scroll down to purchase.

Hike Only: Departs Northwood Meadows State Park parking lot at 1:00pm and ends back at the parking lot around 2:30-3:00pm.

• Members – $15/person Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART
• Non-members – $20/person

Maple Sugaring Experience Only: Begins at 3:00pm and ends by 4:30pm.

• Members – $15/person Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART
• Non-members – $20/person

Hike & Maple Sugaring Experience: Departs Northwood Meadows State Park parking lot at 1:00pm and ends back at the parking lot around 2:30-3:00pm. Drive to Dill Family Farm just 14 minutes away. Event concludes by 4:30pm.

• Members – $25/person Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART.
• Non-members – $35/person

Full refund issued if cancellation received 48 hours prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. If you are registered for this event, you will also receive an email about the cancellation.
