SPECIAL EVENT: Hiking Preparedness – on the trails with Stefen McClary K.
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Do you enjoy hiking with your dog? Have you or your dog ever experienced an emergency on the trail? Were you prepared?
For this event, we are teaming up with Stefen McClary K., owner of Mountain Dogware and avid mountain hiker. When Stefen read about a dog that broke his leg and was left to die because his owner was unable to carry him off the mountain, he couldn’t stop wondering what he would do in that situation. That is when the Pack-a-Paw rescue harness was invented.
For our hiking preparedness adventure, we will journey the 3.5 mile out and back Fundy Trail via State Park Road at Pawtuckaway State Park. This is considered a moderately challenging route with a 160 ft. elevation gain. Along the trail, we will discuss essential hiking gear you should carry at all times in case of an emergency.
In addition, participants will have the opportunity to use an emergency rescue harness manufactured by Mountain Dogware. You will be shown how to fit and attach to your dog as well as lift your dog safely and transport out.
Learn how to be prepared on the trail so that you never have to worry what if??
