SPECIAL EVENT: Intro to Skijoring
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Try Skijoring: The Ultimate Winter Adventure with Your Dog
Have you ever imagined gliding across the snow, powered by your enthusiastic pup? Skijoring—Norwegian for “ski driving”—is an exciting blend of cross-country skiing and dog sledding, perfect for active dogs and their humans. Whether you’re completely new to the sport or want to refine your skills, this event is designed to help you and your dog become a great team on the snow.
Golden Dog Adventure Co. is partnering with Gunstock Mountain Resort to offer an introductory skijoring lesson that will teach you everything you need to get started.
What to Expect:
- Learn the Basics – Begin with a hands-on equipment demonstration, where you’ll see how to properly outfit your dog in a skijoring harness and connect via towline.
- Guided Practice on a Groomed Figure-8 Course – Work with an instructor as you and your dog learn to move together as a team.
- Explore the Trails – After the lesson, enjoy access to Gunstock’s beautifully groomed trails to practice and have fun at your own pace.
Event Details:

- Time: 1-hour group lesson at 11:00 AM (arrive early to get set up)
- Limited Spots: Only 10 human-dog teams for a personalized experience

- Snowshoes are an option if you prefer walking while your dog pulls.
Snow Conditions:
If Gunstock does not have enough snow, we will reschedule for March 16. If there is still not enough snow, the event will be canceled, and all registrations will be refunded.
This is a rare opportunity to experience the thrill of skijoring in a supportive and fun environment. Spaces are limited, so register now and get ready to hit the trails with your adventure dog.
