SPECIAL EVENT: Remembrance Ceremony

ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join us for a special and unique adventure to remember our furry companions who have crossed the rainbow bridge with our partner Melanie Amarosa of Happiness 4 Dogs.

The morning will include a relaxing 1.5 ish mile stroll and Remembrance Ceremony at Creek Farm Reservation in Portsmouth. We will begin with a hike on the Little Harbor Loop Trail to the overlook on Sagamore Creek. After, we will head down to the water where the dogs can swim and play.

Finally, we will end our stroll with a Ceremony at the circle, overlooking the water, to remember our pets who have passed and then gather in the open field for light refreshments and fellowship. Each participant will receive a small gift to remember the day.

During this ceremony you will…

• Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing walk with your dog through the woods.
• Connect with nature and each other.
• Remember and honor your animal companions who have passed.
• Be given an opportunity to share a photo, memory, and/or a funny story about an animal companion you have lost (optional).
• Spend time in quiet reflection.
• Partake in a String Ceremony, a symbol of our connectedness through love and loss of an animal companion.

We are all different and yet have shared experiences. Compassion for the events we share and those that make us different is a powerful bond. This is a chance to come together, share our loss and the joy of loving, and to support each other as we honor our animal companions.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
We will be mostly spread out at this event as we walk and swim, but closer together when we gather at the circle for the Remembrance Ceremony. Your dog should feel comfortable with other dogs in a 12-15 food radius and be able to relax after a walk and swim as we gather for the ceremony. COST: Tickets are limited to 12 people. 1 dog/person recommended for maximum happiness.

ABOUT MELANIE AMAROSA:
Melanie was first introduced to the String Circle in 1998 at a Sweat Lodge ceremony and loved the symbolism of connectedness. Melanie became a Reiki Master in 1999. She offers Reiki to both humans and animals and is also a Canine Myo-manipulative Functional Therapist and Certified PEMF Practitioner. Having experienced the loss of several animal companions and supporting friends and family with their losses, Melanie wanted to find a way to support end of life events for both animal and humans. CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Participants will also be emailed a cancellation notification.
