ABOUT THE EVENT:
Ready to Make a Splash? Learn to SUP With Your Pup at Rye Harbor!

Looking for a cool and unique summer activity with your dog? Join us for SUP With Your Pup at scenic Rye Harbor, NH—a 90-minute, hands-on adventure where you and your dog will learn the basics of stand-up paddle boarding together in a safe, supportive setting.

No experience? No problem. We’ve partnered with Kristine Thurston from You and Your Dog Training & Services and Jana Olenio from SUP YO Adventures to create an accessible and beginner-friendly event for dogs and their people.

Whether you’re brand new to paddle boarding or just want to try something new with your dog, this event combines expert instruction, dog-focused training, and guided practice on the water.

What’s Included:

• All required equipment: paddleboard, paddle, and human life vest
• A pre-event video training session covering safety, techniques, and prep
• On-site coaching and support from two experienced professionals
• Step-by-step guidance on how to introduce your dog to the paddleboard

What You’ll Learn:

• Paddleboard basics: equipment setup, paddling techniques, and safety
• How to prepare your dog through dry land training and gradual water exposure
• Tips for maintaining balance, building your dog’s confidence, and staying safe
• How to create a fun, enriching experience for both you and your pup

Important Details:

• Dogs must wear booties for grip and to protect the board surface. We recommend purchasing early to allow your dog time to adjust.
• Please bring a fitted life jacket for your dog.

This summer adventure is designed for dog lovers who want more than the average walk in the park. Paddle boarding with your pup offers a chance to bond, build trust, and cool off in one of the most beautiful coastal locations in New Hampshire.

IS THIS EVENT GOOD FOR REACTIVE DOGS?
Reactive Dog Level 3. See our Comfort Chart for explanation. This adventure may not be ideal for dogs who need extra space or are easily triggered by other dogs. The setting involves close quarters, limited movement, and potential visual contact between dogs, which could cause stress or reactivity. If your dog tends to bark, lunge, or become overwhelmed around other dogs in confined environments, please email woof@goldendognh.com before registering so we can help determine if this event is a good fit or recommend a better alternative.

COST: Tickets are limited to 10 dog/person teams.

• Members – $87/person & dog team – Your special pricing will be reflected in the CART.
• Non-members – $102/person & dog team

Full refund issued if cancellation received 8 days prior to event start time, otherwise no refund if canceled after. We must have 10 participants to run this event.

ABOUT KRISTINE THURSTON:
Kristine is a self-proclaimed dog-nerd who is always looking for ways to include her dogs in her daily activities. When she first saw someone on a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) with their dog, she knew she had to try it! She quickly fell in love with SUP and it was even more enjoyable that her dog, Layla, could participate as well. Kristine is excited to share her experiences with you and help you and your dog have a great time out on the water! Kristine is a CPDT-KA certified trainer who consults occasionally for You and Your Dog Training & Services.

ABOUT JANA OLENIO:
Jana started SUP YO Adventures in May 2012 in the Boston area where she teaches students how to practice yoga on a paddleboard. Today, Jana teaches SUP Yoga from May to September throughout Boston & NH. The combination of yoga in nature along with the added fitness challenge makes paddleboard the perfect place to practice. During the off-season, Jana continues to inspire others to get outside by leading winter retreats in New England that combine yoga with an outdoor activity and destination retreats and certified teacher trainings, worldwide.

CANCELLATIONS:
If weather or covid conditions make gathering and walking unsafe, the event will be cancelled and announced in the Event section of the Facebook Group and on this Calendar page. Participants will also be emailed a cancellation notification.
