SPECIAL EVENT: SUP with Your Pup at Rye Harbor
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Have you been trying to find a fun water activity to do with your dog? Join us for a special event that will teach you and your pup how to SUP (stand up paddleboard) in a welcoming and safe environment. For this adventure, we will be joined by our training partner Kristine Thurston of You and Your Dog Training and Services and SUP YO Adventures.
Never SUP’d before? No problem. We will teach you!
With the summer heat in full swing, many dog owners are looking for ways to help their dogs stay cool while also enjoying the outdoors. What could be better than spending time together at beautiful Rye Harbor in NH learning how to SUP with your pup? Join us for this interactive event as we discuss how to have a safe and fun day on the water and then put what we have learned into practice.
During this event, you will learn:
- Fundamentals of paddleboarding;
- How to carry, size, and set up your equipment;
- How to properly get on and off the water;
- How to paddle from knees to standing + proper turns and strokes;
- How to prepare with your dog for being on the water;
- Dry land training for positive exposure to the paddleboard for your dog;
- How to introduce your dog to the paddleboard on the water;
- How to stay safe and prevent injuries while paddling with your dog.
SUP YO Adventures will provide all the required equipment for your adventure, including a Paddleboard, Paddle, and Human Life Vest. After the instruction, we will practice what we have learned on the water with guided assistance from Jana at SUP Yo and Kristine at You and Your Dog Training & Services.
